Capri Adds to Mediterra Cork Collection

Winner of Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Product Award in 2008, Capri adds three new homogeneous cork patterns, Pick-up-Strips Light, Pick-up-Strips Dark and Mélange. Homogenous (through pattern) cork is the preferred cork flooring for medium to heavy commercial installations as it can be sanded and refinished. With these new patterns, Capri’s cork collection now includes 20 homogenous patterns and 5 veneer patterns.

Pick-up-Strips Light, comprised of hand-laid strips of Light and Medium, offers subtle shade variations. Pick-up-Strips Dark, comprised of hand-laid strips of Medium and Dark, offers bold shade variations. The placement of the strips is random and varies from tile to tile offering opportunities for unique installations either used alone or with other Mediterra Cork patterns. Until the introduction of Mélange by Capri, this free flowing cork pattern only has been offered in a veneer construction. Mélange is made by randomly mixing shavings and granules of cork resulting in an interesting organic texture.

As with all of the Mediterra Collection, these new introductions are available in 3/16” thickness, and tile sizes of 12” x 12” or 24” x 24”, as well as 5/16” thickness and custom sizes. Finished with durable water-based matte polyurethane, it is suitable for commercial or residential use and will last decades when properly maintained. All patterns in the Mediterra Collection can contribute to LEED credits.
