Capri Adds Medley to Re-Tire Recycled Rubber Collection
Capri adds a ‘medley’ to its Re-Tire recycled rubber flooring collection. The Medley Collection, as the name implies, mixes it up with combinations of recycled tire waste, post-industrial waste rubber, virgin rubber and post industrial waste cork. Who better than a cork company to add cork to recycled rubber?
Re-Tire, first introduced in November 2006, initially included 2 of 35 recycled rubber colors with cork content. The success of and interest generated by those 2 colors prompted Capri to move forward with the 2008 Medley addition to the Re-tire Collection. The nuances of the cork content add textural variations to the recycled rubber category. The Medley colors, inspired by colors found in the Mediterranean region, include saturated colors mixed with matte neutrals, natural cork and black tire waste.
Medley offers 8 colors which include bold color combinations in Fiesta and Roma; subtle color combinations in Peppercorn, Seaside and Tawny; and earthy color combinations in Bark, Mocha and Ink.
The Medley Collection like all of the Re-Tire Collection is available in 4, 6, and 9 mm thickness and 4’ rolls or 2’ x 2’ tiles. The rest of the Re-Tire collection includes Kaleidoscope (9 colors), The Basics (11 colors), and Shades of Black (15 colors). With the addition of Medley, Re-Tire now offers 43 standard colors. All Re-Tire colors contribute to LEED credits.
Only a cork company can ‘mix it up’ and create a Medley that elevates recycled rubber to the next level. Only Capri cork.
