Eco-Clicks Cork Floating Floor
Capri cork offers Eco-Clicks glueless cork floating floor. Available in 6 standard (in stock) patterns and as well as custom choices, Capri cork’s unique Eco-Clicks collection comes in 12” x 36” x 7/16” planks, finished with water-based matte polyurethane. Eco-Clicks is suitable for situations where the substrate has issues, moisture is present, or time, budgets, and/or lease length do not allow for direct glue cork tiles, or a floating floor is preferred. Eco-Clicks provide a great flooring option for light commercial and residential use.
Eco-Clicks construction consists of three layers; the top layer is cork. Cork is from the bark of the cork oak tree, Quercus suber. While most trees will die if the bark is removed, the cork oak tree bark can be removed and will regenerate in 7-9 years. The trees live for over 200 years and the quality of the bark “cork” improves with age. The unusual cell structure of cork accounts for its unique features. These features include its buoyancy, light weight, compressibility, resilience, resistance to liquid and moisture penetration, low thermal conductivity, ability to absorb vibration/sound, and stability. The middle layer of Eco-Clicks is a high density fiberboard which adds strength to the plank; the bottom layer is cork underlayment.
Eco-Clicks is a glueless tongue and groove system which “clicks” together. The installation of Eco-Clicks uses simple tools including a hammer, pull bars, tapping blocks and wedges and can be put over many existing floors.
For a 500 sq ft minimum and 8-10 week lead time, any cork patterns from Capri’s Mediterra Glue Down Cork Collection can be put on Eco-Clicks. Capri also offers many stain colors or will match stain colors for additional “made to order” options for Eco-Clicks. As with all Capri cork products, Eco-Clicks can contribute to LEED credits.
